Who we are:

The Friends of Myanmar (UK) are a group of Christians who feel called by God to support the work of Christ’s Church in Myanmar, especially supporting children’s education and grassroots community development. Friends of Myanmar (formerly Burma) was founded in 2001 by the Revd David Haokip, and is a registered charity.

"I have come that they may have life, and have it full” John 10:10

Welcome to the Friends of Myanmar (UK) website. Thank you for visiting! Please have a look at some of the exciting things going on at our main education support project in North West Myanmar: Onkhojang Boarding School in Tamu town. This provides a safe, caring Christian community for over 60 young people during term-time, plus after-school tuition in a range of subjects such as English and Maths.

Links on this home page will take you to news and photos (even more in the Photo gallery pages).

We aim to give these young people the very best start in life, so that they are able to make a positive difference in their communities into the future. I will be delighted if you feel able to support this valuable work. Just choose ‘Donate’ from the menu on the right for ways you can help. If you would like more information, or would like to become a ‘Friend of Myanmar’, just let me know via the ‘Contact Us’ button.

The Revd Canon David Haokip

Chairman
